JOB TITLE: Sales Manager

LOCATION: Seattle, WA

SALARY RANGE: $90,000 - $140,000

The Sales Manager position is primarily responsible for wholesale frozen Alaska seafood sales into the domestic and export markets. This may include, but is not limited to, salmon (all species), halibut, sablefish, rockfish, POP, Pacific cod and roe. Monitors market trends and shares information with the sales department. Recommends competitive pricing. Identifies and develops new customers while maintaining positive working relationships with current customers. Works closely with plant personnel on product form specifications, logistics, quality issues, and details associated with day to day sales activities. Enters orders into the sales system. Works with customers on credit terms, securing timely payments and minimizing claims. Departmental oversight of individual product categories and ensuring movement of slow-moving inventory. Travels to processing plants, customers, and industry events. Maintains internal reports. Follows and supports all NPSI policies. Other duties as assigned. This position is exempt from overtime and reports to the Vice President of Sales for the Canfisco group.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Secures frozen sales to key domestic and international customers.
• Coordinates with NPSI plants on sales allocation, product form, and logistics. Due to the nature of seafood processing and logistics, as well as international customers, sales work often occurs outside of standard business hours (early morning, late evening).
• Responds to customer issues to mitigate claims and maintain positive working relationships.
• Develops new customer leads.
• Stays current on market trends and shares information within the sales group.
• Recommends competitive pricing.
• Provides departmental oversight on specific assigned categories.
• Works slow moving inventory.
• Ensures timely customer payments.
• Travels to production plants, to visit customers, and to attend industry functions.
• Works to continuously improve processes and documentation.
• Develops long-term professional working relationships with employees, vendors and customers.
• Represents the company professionally and appropriately in interactions with others.
• Maintains accurate, compliant and organized paper and electronic business records.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3+ years of wholesale frozen Alaska seafood sales (domestic + export preferred).
• Excellent attention to detail and numbers.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently and respond to emergent situations effectively.
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
• Influential, collaborative, professional demeanor. Effective oral and written communications.
• Ability to work additional hours as needed outside of standard business hours and during peak periods.
• Consistent and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
